Humam Akbik, MD, at Cincinnati Comprehensive Pain Center has practiced pain medicine for more than 20 years. He takes a multidisciplinary approach at his office in Cincinnati, helping each patient find optimal relief from their pain by incorporating the medical, interventional, and complementary therapies that meet their unique needs. His specialties include minimally invasive spine surgery, personalized treatment of cancer pain, and treatment of acute and chronic neck and back pain, headaches, osteoarthritis, and fibromyalgia.
Dr. Akbik’s extensive education includes a residency in general surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia and a second residency in anesthesia at Harvard Medical School in Boston. He relocated to Cleveland to complete his internship in anesthesia at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, then finished his training by going back to Boston for a fellowship in pain management at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
His exceptional qualifications include three board certifications. Dr. Akbik is a fellow in interventional pain and is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Anesthesiology – Pain Medicine.
Dr. Akbik reaches out to patients in the Fairfield/Cincinnati area and abroad, having traveled to Jordan for medical mission trips since 2012. His dedication to helping patients in Syria led him to start a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization called Atlantic Humanitarian Relief.
His compassionate and expert care has earned numerous accolades. According to Cincinnati Magazine and Cincy Magazine, Dr. Akbik has been voted the Top Doctor in Pain Management since 2007, an honor that’s only awarded when thousands of local physicians recommend him as the doctor they’d turn to and recommend to family and friends.

Jack grew up in the Mt. Lookout area and went to Moeller High School. Jack is a graduate of UC and of XU for his bachelor’s degree and masters degree, respectively. Jack works diligently to improve the lives of his patients and customizes treatment plans to fit each individual’s needs. He has worked in pain management for close to 10 years. Jack works side by side with patients as they decide upon treatment options together.
Mandy Duffy is a board certified family nurse practitioner. She received her BSN from Miami University in 2005 followed by her MSN from Chamberlain University in 2017. She started her nursing career at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. However she spent the majority of her nursing career working in critical care at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She has a strong background in cardiology, critical care, pain management, and total spine care. Mandy is a sports fanatic and a loyal Reds, Bengals, and Bluejackets fan. In her free time she enjoys traveling, golfing, attending sporting events, and spending time with family, friends, and her two dogs. Mandy believes in developing strong relationships, in order to provide personalized care that is tailored to each patient’s specific needs.
